About Me
I am an academic researcher working at the intersection of rigorous mathematical theory, applied probability and statistics, data science frameworks, and scalable computational tools. Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Decision Sciences Department at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), working alongside
Prof. Soudeep Deb and
Prof. Anand Deo.
Prior to this role, I conducted research at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi under the supervision of
Prof. Tanujit Chakraborty, focusing on pairing deep learning frameworks with real-world datasets.
I completed my PhD on network-driven nonlinear epidemic model analysis and simulations with
Prof. Nachiketa Mishra at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM), Kancheepuram, Chennai.

Data-Driven Estimation of Rare Event Probabilities for Spatial Extremes and Its Applications
Madhab Barman, Lizan Pereira, Anand Deo, and Soudeep Deb
Modeling spatial extremes is vital for assessing climate risk, yet existing models suffer
from bias or poor convergence due to limited extreme data.
We propose a robust, data-driven non-parametric framework leveraging regular
variation theory to reliably estimate spatial rare-event probabilities despite data paucity.
